The Garibaldi is a local community pub run by Friends of The Garibaldi CIC. The pub itself has stood on Mill Street for over 150 years and has always been a place for people from all walks of life to come together and socialise over a drink.
Our aim is to keep the friendly, local feel of the pub whilst introducing facilities which the whole community can benefit from. To find out more about the community projects we have on offer check out our 'Community Pub' page
We are taking orders directly at the bar and via our app. Covid has not gone away so we must all work together to keep each other safe.
Website Refresh
As you can probably see, this website now looks very different to how it looked previously. We've listened to your feedback and the issues you had accessing some information from your phones. This version has enhanced security "under the covers" in the techy stuff, should have addressed those mobile device issues and load more quickly. Please let us know if you find any problems.
High five — we’re still alive!
Well, we’ve made it to our fifth birthday. That’s five years since a bunch of plucky (or should we say ‘stubborn’?) regulars decided to take action to stop The Garibaldi becoming lost to the incessant march of development.
We’re striving, surviving, thriving… which is all the more remarkable when you consider that for almost half of our existence in our current form we’ve had to cope with pandemic and being forced to shut our doors. Many other small businesses did so permanently, and many other hospitality venues are still struggling to build business levels back to where they were.
Garibaldi Newsletter Issue 19
This month’s newsletter is being distributed direct to our lovely neighbours! Spring has certainly sprung of late, and while not all of you will want to join us for any of our forthcoming events planned at your local pub, we hope that some of you surely will. This aims to give you a flavour of some of our recent activities in the last month that reflect our wider values and role in the local area, and inform you of those that are planned across coming weeks. We offer this as a gentle reminder that there’s always something worthwhile happening down (or up, depending on where you are on the hill) at The Gari!
